What can I do?

Our times

Peace can never be taken for granted. Several shocking recent examples around the world show us that living in peace is sadly not the norm for many women, men and children suffering the terrible and destructive effects of war.

While this website was originally more geared towards the ecological aspect in combination with an inner peace, I believe that connecting to ourselves and finding a balance in our body and mind can help with reducing conflicts with the outer world. While wars can leave us shocked and paralyzed not knowing what to do and how to react, our bodies and mind can be a starting point for finding calmness and tranquility that gives us the strength and support to our family, friends and people in need.

So what to do?

Do a tree pose

Choose a spot, anywhere and anytime. Lift one leg. Stretch your arms. Be the tree. Smile.

And ask someone to take a picture (This is optional).

You can do this alone or together with others to build a forest of human trees, check either my 100 tree poses or 100 more tree poses for inspiration. The sky is the limit, the earth is the foundation.

Plant a tree

Put a sapling in the ground.  Take care of it in your garden. See it grow.

Organize a tree-planting event with your friends.

Donate to an organization that plants trees around the world. Or gift a tree to someone you love. The TrillionTreeCampaign is a start. Also, you can check out the planting initiatives that I have supported or support my tree planting efforts at Ecology

Bring some peace to the world

Find peace with yourself. It is fine. Just do a tree pose. Focus on it. Try not to fall over.

Support people in danger. Donate to initiatives for building democracy, protecting lives in conflict zones, and post-conflict reconstruction.

Inform yourself about peace-building initiatives. For instance, check out the important work of the United Nations on Peacebuilding.
